10 HANDY MOVING TIPS

1. When moving to a new address, have an OPEN FIRST carton packed with essentials such as kettle, toaster, coffee, tea, sugar, set of cutlery for everyone, matches, set of towels for everyone, sheets for everyone, remote controls, power leads for AV equipment and computers, furniture lock keys, toilet paper, tissues and a first aid kit.

2. Create an inventory of all the boxes you have packed and their contents. This could be done with a numbering system on the boxes.

3. Label each box with the room it goes to plus list the contents on each box.

4. Buy a tape dispenser and good quality packing tape if you are doing the packing. It will save you time in the long run.

5. Fill up your luggage bags with clothing and linen.

6. Have each person in your family pack their own essential box with their name clearly marked on it. This box would contain their essential bits and pieces like school bag, desk lamp, night light, favourite toys, address book, pillow, school clothes, pens and paper etc.
